Family Group Conferencing Program

The offender(s), victim(s), their families and other supportive individuals and community member affected by the crime come together to share their stories of what happened and how the offense has affected each of them. This meeting is coordinated by a trained facilitator utilizing principles based on the Balanced and Restorative Justice Model.The conference is an opportunity for the offender to make amends for the 
harm they caused. All participants work toward a common goal - a written agreement on how to repair the harm and prevent the offender from repeating harmful behavior. All referrals to ESS are received from the Office of the District Attorney - Juvenile Diversion. Cases involve various diversion -eligible offenses by first-time offenders.
