Since our inception in 1983, ESS has served a hot lunch to those in need.   This program continues today with lunch served by volunteers Monday - Friday to individuals and families in our community.Last year ESS served 24,893 hot lunches. This is a 19 percent increase over 2009. ESS conducted a survey of participants in the food outreach program in the summer of 2010. The results showed:

77 percent are male

90 percent are unemployed

97 percent have an income of less than $25,000 per year and 74 percent have an income of less than $10,00 per year

62 percent are homeless
